The charity experienced an increase in volunteering enquiries since the pandemic, due to many people on furlough or working from home with time to give.

If you live in the Ashford area but don’t fit the criteria needed to become a Community Rehoming Volunteer, Battersea is also looking for dog and cat fanatics to donate their time at local events, such as Kent County Show. Applicants will also need access to a car and preferably live in a household without other animals or young children. Volunteers will also receive ongoing support, behavioural training and Battersea will provide everything needed to look after the animal, such as food and veterinary treatments.
